Reflections on Teaching Through Education

Teaching young people puts me in a position to shape their lives through education. I am an educator and a lifelong learner. Therefore, I have a passion for learning and teaching. A true learner is not satisfied until they have shared all their knowledge with their students. Teaching is a consistent, two-sided process of learning and sharing. I often learn from my students through their feedback. Also, I need to speak with my colleagues to get support and feedback, learn from their experiences, be open to new methods and strategies, and seek professional development opportunities at conferences, workshops, or seminars.

Students are individuals and should be treated as such. Advice and support given to different students should be varied, and I treat my students as individual human beings with their fears, joys, difficulties, and problems. Education is the process through which students acquire the knowledge and skills that our society expects them to have.

Real education develops a critical thought process in addition to learning accepted facts. It also encourages intellectual curiosity, leading to lifelong learning. Education enriches lives and helps students move from where they are to where they want to be.

I taught the following education courses: Material Development and Adaptation, Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), Introduction to Education, Theory and Practice of TEFL, Educational Administration and Management, and Educational Technologies.
