Grammarly vs. WhiteSmoke: A Comparative Analysis

Grammarly Software

Grammarly is a grammar correction and proofreading software used in schools and universities worldwide. It has many valuable features that can be effectively used in ideal writing enhancement software. Here are some of the essential features.

1. Checking the Writing Styles
Grammarly doesn’t just settle for applying the same writing rules for everyone. You can change the checking profile to match your writing styles like marketing, scriptwriting, creative writing, technical, student, academic, medical, or web copy and blog post format.

2. Checking Plagiarism
Grammarly has an excellent plagiarism checker. It checks any evidence of a copy on the web and has many SEO-friendly features.

3. Vocabulary Enhancement Feature
This feature suggests an alternative writing style and word usage improves and makes the writer's content unique.

4. Checks and Corrects Grammar Errors
Grammarly always highlights passive voice and shows that you must change it into active voice. It also has other excellent features. For example, it can see the difference between Twitter and twitter. It also tells you when to put commas and when to put semicolons or apostrophes.

5. Browser Extension
Grammarly has an extension for Chrome. It can find errors and advise correction for grammar on any text box you write, whether it be a Facebook status or any web-based comment box. The aforementioned ensures correct and representable English standards for your communication online. Grammarly checks your email writings and tweets for grammatical errors, too.

6. Microsoft Word Integration Function
It automatically checks grammar mistakes while you are typing.
Windows extension for Microsoft Word is the most significant feature of all. It checks for errors while you are typing. Hence, Grammarly is the best grammar checker tool for students and teachers.

7. Scores Students and teachers can click on Scores at the bottom of the page and download a report automatically created by Grammarly.

2. Works with any Platform

It can find punctuation and grammar errors irrespective of your device.

Conclusion

WhiteSmoke is a rather handy device tool. It can be used with a smartphone and laptop. Also, it has a translator service that can be automated or manual (extra charges will be applied). WhiteSmoke can be helpful to those who use smartphones or tablets very often and need to translate into a few languages.

Having tested both tools, I found that Grammarly is better for me than WhiteSmoke. In addition to the features above, Grammarly has an advanced function of checking different writing styles, such as essays, dissertations, business letters, etc. Moreover, you can switch individual features off; for example, you can switch off plagiarism to remove confusion.

I strongly recommend Grammarly to all writers, bloggers, students, and teachers.
