Disseminating of Knowledge

Algirdas Makarevicius. Community Service: Spreading Knowledge Worldwide

The Dissemination of Knowledge in the Fields of Teaching, Learning, and Research

Developing the Culture of Learning
Community service is voluntary work that serves people in a particular, demanding area. Apart from teaching, I encouraged students to read extensively through online and library materials, thereby developing their reading culture. I conducted extensive reading sessions in the library, established various English-learning clubs, including the Public Speaking Club, and assisted with editing articles for college English journals and newspapers. The aim was to develop the culture of learning.

Reference Desk for ESL Teachers and TEFL Students
After consulting and helping people in various parts of the world, I wanted to make my knowledge and expertise readily available to everyone. Therefore, I designed an extensive non-profit website, "ESL Teacher Reference Desk." On this website, I provided helpful information for ESL teachers, tutors, lecturers, and ESL students so that they could make the best out of their profession: look at the reality from diverse perspectives, create their own professional drive and passion with confidence, find reliable, verified solutions, and drive quality results in their teaching profession. This website offers individuals with ESL qualifications a unique opportunity to succeed and achieve their maximum career potential. It also serves as a reference desk for teachers with ESL qualifications who want to transition their careers and grow in other fields, such as moving from ESL teaching into jobs or businesses that can be successfully managed by individuals with ESL qualifications and teaching experience. ESL teachers typically possess training and skills that are in demand across various jobs and industries.
